The Present That Produces Reality - Doing Is Science When Making Decisions

The Present That Produces Reality - Doing Is Science When Making Decisions

From Body-Territory to Biome Income: if past and future are constructions we produce in this one and only now, how can we transform perception, movement, and knowledge into better conditions of existence?

Where Are We When We Remember?

Imagine closing your eyes and remembering a conversation from twenty years ago.

You recognize a voice, reconstruct a face, and perhaps experience a particular feeling again.

Now imagine a conversation you intend to have tomorrow.

You anticipate words, reactions, and possibilities.

But where is your Body-Territory while all this is happening?

Here. In this one and only now.

We do not materially return to the old conversation. Nor do we visit the one that has not yet happened.

We produce representations from the information our perception, memory, and relationships make available.

At BrainLatam, we investigate three bodies without turning them into three separate times.

We judge the past, investigate the present, and plan the future. We do all of this now.

Time as a Derivative of Movement Through Space

In the Consciousness 5D hypothesis, we begin with three material spatial dimensions.

We add Movement and Qualia: the transformations of bodily configurations and the felt qualities of particular experiences.

Metabolism moves matter, energy, signals, and relationships.

Perception participates in these transformations.

In BrainLatam's formulation, lived time derives from movements and changes in spatial configurations that we are able to experience.

Clocks allow us to compare physical intervals.

But our experience of duration also depends on how those intervals are lived.

This interpretation does not mean that physics has demonstrated the nonexistence of time.

Our proposition is that the past and future, as conscious experiences, are constructed now.

We do not need to inhabit them in order to represent them.

The Three Bodies Participate in the Same Event

Imagine receiving news that a river has become contaminated.

You remember your grandparents fishing there.

You investigate the water's current quality.

You imagine children swimming there again.

Three perspectives participate in a single experience.

Memory provides information for judging consequences.

Science allows us to investigate existing conditions and experiment with solutions.

Imagination opens possibilities for future decisions.

None of these movements requires consciousness to leave the present moment.

In W43, we call these perspectives the three temporal bodies.

The past is reconstructed, the present is lived, and the future is anticipated — all within the current movement of the Body-Territory.

Perception Does Not Deliver the Whole of Reality

Anil Seth investigates perception as an active process in which brain predictions interact with sensory information.

What we perceive depends on the characteristics of our environment and the conditions of our own organism.

At BrainLatam, we recognize that every experience offers a selection of reality.

Memories participate in this selection.

Expectations do too.

A stimulus may be processed and participate in our bodily configuration before becoming the focus of attention.

Attention can amplify its priority without having to create it.

When we claim to know the past or anticipate the future, we are working with representations, not with the totality of events.

That is why we need Science.

Doing Becomes Science When We Accept Revision

Imagine noticing that the water in your community smells different.

Someone claims it is contaminated.

Another person says everything is normal.

You could choose the more familiar narrative.

But another possibility exists.

Collect samples, establish procedures, compare results, and investigate different causes.

Doing something does not automatically make it Science.

Scientific investigation requires methods, evidence, records, criticism, and the possibility of revision.

Our hypotheses must confront results we did not expect.

Doing becomes Science when experience can transform what we believed we knew.

This principle should also guide institutional decisions.

Public policy must be capable of learning from its consequences.

The State Exists Within Every Body-Territory

Imagine a municipal government announcing that a neighborhood has received sanitation investments.

Official reports show completed infrastructure projects.

Yet some families still lack a reliable water supply.

Administrative records describe one aspect of reality.

Body-Territories experience consequences that must also participate in the evaluation.

Within the BrainLatam framework, the Body-Territory is the smallest and indivisible constituent unit of the State.

The State must recognize itself in every Body-Territory, because protecting each existence means preserving the State's own continuity.

Individual experience does not replace verifiable measurements.

It can reveal questions our institutions have not yet asked.

When Economic Growth Does Not Mean Living Better

Imagine a city increasing its tax revenue.

New businesses arrive. Production grows.

But heat, commuting distances, and difficulties accessing water also increase.

Has the city improved?

We need to ask: improved for whom, in which dimensions, and with what consequences?

ECLAC has been developing multidimensional approaches to investigating well-being in Latin America.

Brazil's IBGE also produces environmental accounts relating economic activities to ecosystems.

These instruments demonstrate why we must examine different dimensions.

Producing more money does not, by itself, demonstrate that we are producing better conditions for continued existence.

Biome Income: Recognizing the Value of Continuity

At BrainLatam, we propose Biome Income as a way of recognizing the value generated by sustaining and regenerating the ecological conditions of life.

Imagine two territories generating similar revenues.

One loses vegetation, water, and biodiversity.

The other restores springs, protects its soil, and improves food availability.

If we measure only monetary values, we may overlook fundamental differences.

Yet the second territory is preserving material conditions that allow life to continue producing itself.

Biome Income investigates how to recognize this value and how some of its benefits might return to the territories and Body-Territories involved.

How much life does our production make it possible to continue producing?

The Biome Must Participate in Our Measurements

We cannot evaluate every territory using a single standard.

The Amazon has different ecological dynamics from the Caatinga.

The Pantanal does not function exactly like the Atlantic Forest.

Each territory requires appropriate indicators.

We can measure water, soil, biodiversity, temperature, mobility, housing, food, and regeneration.

We must also recognize experiences that cannot easily be expressed as a single number.

Who bears the costs of a particular activity?

Who receives its benefits?

How much movement, and how many possibilities for existence, have been expanded?

Biome Income must not reduce the complexity of life to a number that conceals its differences.

It should help us investigate them.

The Man of Maize Learns by Doing

I remember my experience in the Atlantic Forest.

I was walking barefoot, wearing only shorts.

Away from the trail, I encountered tangled roots and branches.

At times, I had to crawl to protect my skin without breaking the vegetation.

I did not know every possible passage beforehand.

Each movement revealed new possibilities.

Perceive what is possible.

The Man of Wood might remain attached to a familiar instruction.

The Man of Clay might imagine an existence superior to that territory.

In BrainLatam's interpretation, the Man of Maize learns by participating in the Biome.

His knowledge grows as he experiments with movement and recognizes its consequences.

Personalissima AI Gives Possibilities Back to Us

Imagine identifying an environmental problem affecting your family.

You need to discover which regulations apply, locate documents, and find the responsible institutions.

This work can consume your lifetime.

Now imagine a Personalissima AI capable of organizing information, monitoring deadlines, and preparing requests you have authorized.

You would remain responsible for the decisions that belong to you.

Technology would not replace the scientific method or qualified professionals.

But it could expand your ability to investigate and participate.

The State must recognize itself in every Body-Territory as its indivisible constituent unit, understanding that protecting each person's lifetime means preserving the very existence of the State.

The Fourth Power Does Not Lose Its Memory

In the first body, we investigated Justice and Politics as means of correcting our course.

Now we can deepen BrainLatam's proposed Fourth Power: Time, Value, Finance, and Memory.

Imagine a public project producing results different from those expected.

Its hypotheses, decisions, costs, and consequences remain documented.

A new administration does not have to reconstruct everything.

It can investigate what happened and change the procedure.

Institutional memory must remain available as the State learns.

Its purpose is not to freeze old decisions.

It is to allow learning to continue across administrations while preserving transparency, privacy, and accountability.

Jiwasa: Investigating Without Erasing Differences

Imagine residents, researchers, and institutions discussing solutions for an excessively hot urban area.

Some present temperature measurements.

Others describe difficulties moving around and experiences inside their homes.

Each contribution can reveal different questions.

Through Jiwasa, we share agency without requiring identical experiences.

Data must be examined critically.

Hypotheses must be tested.

Decisions must consider their consequences.

Citizen Drex and the Production of Excess are part of our investigation into economic participation, the distribution of value, and ecological responsibility.

These are proposals open to democratic experimentation.

Science can guide collective decisions without silencing the uniqueness of each Body-Territory.

We Can Only Produce Reality Now

Let us return to the river.

We remember experiences that cannot be repeated exactly.

We imagine possibilities that have not yet happened.

But we can measure its water, recognize damage, and experiment with solutions at this very moment.

Ailton Krenak invites us to perceive the continuity of life through our relationships with territory.

Within Consciousness 5D, we investigate consciousness as movement that perceives itself as Being within the metabolism it produces.

We do not need to wait for an imagined future to begin transforming our relationships.

The past we judge and the future we plan both participate in this one and only now in which we can act.

If every Body-Territory constitutes an indivisible part of the State, its experience must participate in the questions guiding our collective decisions.

Doing becomes Science when we recognize movement, investigate its results, and learn to produce new possibilities of Being.
